The top half of the Great Mountain can remain more-or-less unchanged. Perhaps a few more platforming sections using the Springy Step Shoes, where the player has to navigate around obstacles without wasting their single jump.
The Unga Bungas' mountain is gigantic, second only to the Great Mountain, to symbolize their power over the area.
A dam, built by the Unga Bungas, cuts off the water supply to the Oogle Boogles' cave. This can be destroyed by the adult T-Rex.
Another dam built by the Unga Bungas is used to make Dippy's water run dry. The Unga Bungas could perhaps mis-characterize Dippy as a "terrifying monster". This can be destroyed by the adult T-Rex.
Terry attacks anyone trespassing on the Great Mountain rather than waiting until Banjo and Kazooie are near the top. This creates a stronger sense of urgency, encouraging the player to more promptly defeat Terry and thus be
able to rescue his children.
An extremely anachronistic Stonehenge ripoff, I'm aware, but it does give off a prehistoric vibe, and fills in the center area around the lake nicely.
My initial horrific sketch lacked this platform. The artist I commissioned to make this image insisted on reshaping it into this. I accept no liability.
There would be much larger foliage around the swamp than the art would suggest, using broad, low-poly leaves to fill in the view, and thick trunks to dissuade the player from attempting to climb them. In addition, scaled-up
"prehistoric" versions of the dragonflies from Banjo-Kazooie could make a cameo apperance to make the platforming a little more challenging.
The Cheato Page originally next to Mumbo's skull along the wall would be floating here, collectable by the adult T-Rex, who can navigate through the swamp unharmed.
This path now leads to the Stomping Grounds, with a bone arch to prevent the adult T-Rex from entering. Though a showdown between Stomponadon and the adult T-Rex could make for an interesting set piece, that's a pretty big
change to suggest.
The entrance to the level is at a higher elevation, giving the player a better lay of the land right off the bat. A warp pad and a pair of split-up pads would be nearby, for convenience.
Dippy's water problem is no longer solved in a completely circuitous way. The solution is fairly simple, but also more satisfying, as the player actually gets to have some agency, and solves a problem caused by an antagonistic
force rather than destroying a random rock in a pool in the sky and being rewarded with a Jiggy.
The styracosaurus cave, now located on the ground for easier shaman access.
This path leads to the train station, as there was no need to have so many loading zones represented by identical caves. If a cave/fade to darkness is still needed for visual consistency, this could be changed to a downward
staircase into a tunnel, at the very least.
The Oogle Boogles' mountain is smaller, signifying their smaller status. They're now also suffering from a lack of water due to the machinations of the Unga Bunga.
